eset security review

ESET’s suite is the most value-for-money. Its malware detection rate is close to perfection and the suite comes with an impressive array of additional features with a tiny footprint. The Android package comes with an anti-theft feature to help you find your phone that has been stolen. The premium version includes parental controls, a safe browser, and a passcode manager. The network protection features are also excellent, including the option of a firewall as well as to scan your home devices for weaknesses.

SysInspector is a standout tool. It provides a snapshot of important Registry entries and running processes. It can be daunting for newbies. However, if you are familiar with task managers such as the ones found in Sysinternals’ process explorer you’ll be at ease.

Another feature that is great is the ability to schedule scans for on-demand. This is a great alternative to real-time protection, and it’s quick and simple to set up. It’s a pity that ESET does not integrate this with other scheduling tasks, and its UI makes it somewhat difficult to locate in comparison to some of its competitors.

The password manager is user-friendly and comes with lots of features. It’s an effective form filler that is ideal for online banking. The password manager is available only in the premium version, which requires an account with ESET to use it, is as effective as other standalone solutions.
